In his will dated 7th October 1779 he left all to his widow Elizabeth.
However, there was a condition that should she re-marry then she must pay £200 each to their sons Richard, William and John (called John Crews in the will) and £100 each to their daughters Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah and Ann.
The later children had not been born at the time of writing the will but the will was not altered before he died.
