BUCKINGHAMSHIRE
Serious Charges.At Marlow police-court last week (before Messrs. F. C. Frye, W. Lovegrove, R. Ward, and A. Lawrence), Robert Pedder, of Station- road, Marlow, was brought up on remand, charged with indecently assaulting Elsie May Endall, aged 5 years, at Marlow on December 28th. Mr. R. S. Wood, of High Wycombe. appeared to prosecute, and Mr. A.J. Clarke, of High Wycombe, was for the defence. Evidence was given by Elsie May Endall, Katherine Searle, Mrs. Endall, and P.c. Haystaffe. Defendant, who pleaded not guilty and elected to be sworn, denied the offence There was a second charge against Pedder of assaulting Amy Elizabeth Rippington, aged 9 years, on December 29th. Evidence was given by Amy Elizabeth Rippington, Alice Cox, Mrs. Rippington, and P.c. Haystaffe. Defendant pleaded not guilty. Pedder was committed for trial on both charges, and was admitted to bail.
