    NEWS OF THE DISTRICT.
Dr. C. W. Iliffe yesterday held an inquest at Stoke touching the death of Lucy Rippington, a single woman of independent means, and 75 years of age, who lived with her sister, Mrs. Stalworth, at Stoke Green. On Sunday she appeared in her usual health, but about 4.30 in the afternoon she was found lying in an unconscious condition outside the door of the house, and died before medical assistance could be procured. Deceased, it was stated, was subject to fainting fits. Dr. Harman Brown, who was called to the deceased, stated that he was of opinion that death was due to syncope. A verdict in accordance with this evidence was returned.
