Notes
- There are no baptism records for Coleman and there is a distinct suspicion that he was not a true Rippington and is somehow related to Gilbert Repington of Amington.
Gilbert was accused of the being the father of a female child of Jane Edwards while living in Ludgate Street, London in 1702 ... in the court reports he gave his name as Gilbert Rippington.
Curiously Gilbert's actual wife Jane Vernon was baptised in St. Stephen's, Coleman Street, London ... Coleman Street and Ludgate Street (now Ludgate Hill) are only 1/2 mile apart.
By other events Coleman Rippington would have been born sometime before 1731 - the time and place all seem very suspicious ... the link is not obvious; but was he a child of the child of Jane Edwards?, or another illegitimate child of Gilbert and Jane Edwards?, or even the child of some other conquest of Gilbert?
