Prebendaries of Marlepas

Bishop Rede's Register gives the appointment of Wm. Repyngton under the date of June I3th, 1400.
The presentation was made by the Crown, and the benefice is described as Preb. of Marlepas " in capella regia de Hastynges."
Thomas Preston's appointment is also given, the date being May 8th, 1401, and it is stated that the prebend was vacant by the resignation of Hoke.

William Repyngton, prebendary of Krdyngton in the king's free
chapel of Briggenorth, in the diocese of Coventry and Lichfield,
parson of the church of Balsham, in the diocese of Ely, and
portioner of Burford,in the diocese of Hereford. Byp.s.
- This particular William is difficult to position in the family tree - he was living in Lichfield the same time as William Repyngton, Armigeri ... but he clearly was living a very different life to that person - being a fairly prominent priest.
The best assumption is that he was a cousin of the land owning William and so along with the other Repyngton priests living at this time he has been identified as a son of Bishop Philip Repington.
Presently there's are no details to prove or disprove this - further evidence is needed.
