  • Abstract of Will of Jane Thatcher (widow) of Uffington, England dated XXIII day of March 1598.
    To be burried in churchyard of Uffington. To son Richard's wiffe ,my best black gowne or my best petticoate,
    at her choce wch she will and that wch she refusheth I give and bequeath to my sonne Oliver's wiffe, and to Jane my sonne Oliver's daughter a petticoat.
    To my sonne Oliver my best hatt and my worst gowne, and to Alice his daughter, one f oulde petticoats and to the rest of his children to whom I have given nothins XII d each.
    To nephew Richard Thatcher the midle bras pott and to Alice his sister my new peice of redd cloth and to the rest of my sonne Richard's chldren to whom I have given nothing XII d, to be paid by their father.
    Residue to son William, wh is appointed executor.
