Burke's Peerage contains the following notes:
Sir Richard Repington, knt. was seised of the lordships of Faukingham, Danderbie, and Thorpe in theWillowes, as is mentioned in a deed dated in 1173.
He lived in the reign of HENRY II. and was slain at a just, holden at Woodstock, in the triumph before the king, anno 1178.
Sir Richard m. first, Marian, dau. of Sir John Lowther, knt. and secondly, Alice, daughter of Sir John Chaworth.of Warton, Notts, by the former he left, with two other sons, Mathew and John, and two daughters, Grizagon, the wife of Henry Sutton, of Aram, and Judith, of John Mounson, of Carleton.
His son Thomas Repington, a soldier of the martial reign of Edward III. participated in the glory of Poicticrs, but being distressed and taken prisoner, he was constrained to sell his lands in the county of Lincoln, viz. the lordships of Repington, Faukingham, Danderby, and Thorpe in the Willowes cum membris, anno 40th Edward III.
Referring to Burke's Peerage - Henry II reigned 1154-1189.
Edward III was born at Windsor Castle on 13th of November, 1312.
Clearly these events cannot have happened to one man and his son - which indicates that Burke's Peerage has over-simplified the line-of-descendants and that there are some considerable missing generations in the Repington family.
