DISTRICT NEWS. OXFORDSHIRE. Sale of Farming Land. On the 11th inst., a copyhold farm of about 43 acres, one-half of which is pasture and the remainder arable, known as Cross Farm, situated at Marston, and rented at 105l. per annum, was sold by auction at the Golden Cross Hotel, Oxford. It was purchased by Mr. Edward Rippington for 2,600l.
- Younger brother Edwin must have worked with Charles & John at their butchers shop in 24 Upper Marylebone Street, London at least between 1841 until 1861.
Upper Marylebone Street is now New Cavendish Street - the name changed in the late nineteenth century.
Nearby public house 'The Ship', 18a Upper Marylebone Street, Marylebone, London - also listed as 22 Saville Street in 1881.
The address of this pub is now given as 134 New Cavendish Street, W1, following street renaming.
Hence 24 Upper Marylebone Street is most probably now 140 New Cavendish Street.
In 1871 Edwin is listed at 35 Upper Marylebone Street (maybe his own shop), but in 1881 he's back in Marston at Elsfield Road, then in 1891 he's at his final resting place "The Elms" where he died in 1899.

35 Upper Marylebone Street would now be 151 New Cavendish Street - The University of Westminster, Cavendish Campus is now at this location.
